Covid 2020 update

First and foremost, we want to send our love and support during this uncertain time. The global COVID-19 pandemic is one of the most challenging things we’ve faced as an industry, but we are committed to continue serving our clients’ housing needs in every way we are able. We have a duty to our clients and partners to continue providing solutions for their housing needs, and we are 100% committed in our ability to continue doing just that!

Our team will remain available to assist you in whatever way you need - anything from providing current housing solutions, industry resources and updated protocols, or even just a Facetime call to connect with another human during this time of isolation.

We also want to provide updates on the initiatives we are taking in response to COVID-19, in an effort to continue operating safely across our 75,000 service destinations.

PCH Team and Client Safety
As most of our clients and partners have, we have transitioned to our remote office protocols to protect the safety of our team members and their families. As a company based in Houston, we have experienced our share of hurricanes and other types of emergencies allowing us to practice these protocols regularly. We are well-positioned to perform all normal business functions and provide service for our clients using these remote protocols.

We have established a cross-functional team to monitor the impact of the pandemic and lead our response efforts in helping prepare and disseminate important communications to our team and clients.

Team Members and Partners have been instructed to adhere to the guidance provided by the CDC and World Health Organization regarding how to protect themselves and others from community spread.

Temporary Housing Solutions
Our goal is to provide transparency and insight surrounding the current directives impacting our ability to provide furnished housing solutions in each of the 75,000 destinations of our service area. Here are some of the current challenges our entire industry is working through:

Current challenges:
  • Shelter in Place/Community Lock Down Directives
  • Limited Onsite Property Staff - limiting our ability to execute leases, gather current pricing/availability, obtain keys or access to apartments
  • Limited onsite Maintenance Teams - to protect everyone’s safety, onsite Maintenance Teams are only responding to essential/emergency maintenance needs. Please see below for more information regarding essential versus non-essential maintenance requests.
  • Restrictions for Utility Installation Appointments - limiting our ability to have wired cable installed
  • Modified Furniture/Housewares delivery schedules - many of our partners are limiting new deliveries, particularly in the most-impacted areas
PCH Solutions:
  • Shelter in Place/Community Lock Down Directives Preferred Corporate Housing is fully operational utilizing remote work processes, but we are also classified as an ‘essential business’ ensuring we are able to continue servicing our current and future guests during ‘shelter in place’ directives as needed.
  • Limited Onsite Property Staff - Onsite office may be closed, but we have arranged for modified contact and procedures allowing us to continue providing new housing options for our clients
  • Limited onsite Maintenance Teams - Please see below for more detailed information about how PCH is servicing our guests’ maintenance requests
  • Restrictions for Utility Installation Appointments - PCH has been successful in ensuring all essential utility services are functioning before allowing guests to move in, and we have alternative wifi connection solutions we can offer where internet services cannot be installed
  • Modified Furniture/Housewares delivery schedules - We are working very closely with our vetted partners to ensure they are following CDC guidelines. Flexibility and over-communication with our delivery teams is essential.

The PCH Team has always found success in finding solutions to big challenges, and we are confident this event will be no exception! You can count on your team to keep you informed, provide realistic expectations, and workable solutions for you and your needs. We are here to assist you in every way possible and are committed to providing you with the utmost service and guidance moving forward.

We thank you in advance for your flexibility and partnership during this challenging time. We’re all in this together, and we are grateful to [virtually] walk with you along this uncertain journey.
